Ostheimer nativity figure sheep standing made of wood | Wooden figure

Product description:

The Ostheimer standing wooden sheep nativity figure, with its understated design, has been reduced to a characteristic shape. The sheep is ideal for recreating the Christmas nativity scene with all the nativity figures (not included) or, during the rest of the year, for playing with wooden animals.

The wooden sheep is perfect for hours of play and wonderful to combine with our wooden animals.

Why playing with abstract wooden toys and animals is good for children's development

Playing with animals and figures becomes fascinating as soon as children can grasp objects in a coordinated manner and remains a focus until they start school, if not longer. The more abstract wooden animals and figures are, the more they stimulate a child's imagination during play. This is particularly relevant later, when children of school age have to solve completely abstract tasks that require imagination and the ability to visualize.

At the same time, wooden animals and figures also support your child in telling and playing out stories. They can represent themselves as individual wooden figures, while also being part of a larger whole, such as an animal family or a themed world like a farm or forest, thereby teaching children fundamental connections.

You can find wonderful wooden animals to go with the wooden donkey in our Farm, Wooden Animals, Tractors & Co. category.
