Ostheimer nativity figure king green made of wood | Wooden figure

Product description:

The Ostheimer green wooden nativity king figure, with its understated design, is reduced to its characteristic shape. The king figure represents one of the three wise men, Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar, in a stylized form and is perfect for recreating the Christmas nativity scene with all the nativity figures (not included) or for playing with wooden figures during the rest of the year.

Why playing with abstract wooden toys and animals is good for children's development

Playing with animals and figures becomes fascinating as soon as children can grasp objects in a coordinated way and remains a focus until school age, if not longer. The more abstract wooden animals and figures are, the more they stimulate a child's imagination during play. This becomes especially relevant later, when children of school age have to tackle completely abstract tasks that require imagination and the ability to visualize in order to solve them.

At the same time, wooden animals and figures also support your child in telling and acting out stories. They can stand on their own as wooden figures, but are also part of a larger whole, such as an animal family or a themed world like a farm or forest, thereby teaching children basic connections.

The manufacturer: Since 1939, Ostheimer has been making wooden toys for children, following, among other things, the principles of Waldorf education. Ostheimer has received multiple awards for its social and cultural engagement. Ostheimer's wooden figures are made and painted entirely by hand. The wood used comes from Central European forestry. Each product is therefore unique, with its distinctive design encouraging children to engage in imaginative play. The high-quality materials are certified and comply with all toy safety requirements.
