This handcrafted beauty by Candylab Toys was inspired by the New York Times truck fleet that delivered the newspapers in the 1970s and 1980s. The 8.5 "-long truck made of solid wood is less of a toy than a collector's item and definitely an eye-catcher on every sideboard.
To the background: For decades, dark green Times trucks delivered freshly printed newspapers to destinations across the tri-state area. In 1974 the publishing house brought out a more modern look. Sixty new trucks, painted blue and white, set off with the iconic newspaper logo divided into three lines and inclined diagonally. The NYT slogan "All the News That's Fit to Print" was painted on both sides and a company logo was applied to the cab.
The Candylab Toys Truck faithfully reproduces the appearance and logos of these vehicles. Made of high-quality beech wood, the truck has real rubber tires and metal axles that allow it to roll quickly. The back is open so that small items can be thrown when stored in the truck. The truck comes in a specially made box with a historical description of the NYT delivery vehicles.
